Loan Operations Intern

We are searching for an experienced Loan Operations Intern
South Bend, Indiana

Essential Function

Performs a variety of duties involving research, processing member requests, data entry and problem resolution in relation to Everwise Credit Union’s loan portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties

1.      Responsible for producing written correspondence and communicating with internal and external members regarding consumer loan related issues.

2.      Responsible for processing requests for a variety of documents such as title requests, letters of guarantee, lien releases, loan payoffs, statement copies and other documents.

3.      Responsible for processing internal and external requests for reversal of loan fees, payments, loan payoffs, title and collateral releases.

4.      Assists in monitoring various loan reports to ensure accuracy and compliance of lending portfolio with Everwise Credit Union's lending policy. 

5.      Responsible for generating appropriate loan closing documents and reviewing for completeness and accuracy for both Retail and Member Contact Center loans.

6.      Assumes additional responsibilities as necessary for the continued growth and advancement of the Credit Union.

 

Specific Skills

·        Highly accurate data entry skills and detail orientated in research are a necessity.

·        Requires clear verbal communication skills, telephone etiquette and the ability to resolve more complex issues in a tactful manner.

·        Requires knowledge of computer applications at an intermediate level, Microsoft Office and web applications.

·        Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize the workload.

·        Ability to demonstrate problem-solving capabilities.

Accountability

·        Proper handling of processes and documents to maximize efficiency and decrease errors.

·        Accountable for following established procedures and security measures in order to protect the Credit Union from liability.

·        Accountable for excellent member service and adherence to the Credit Union’s philosophy and Service Expectations.

Accountable for understanding and applying government laws and regulations and Everwise Credit Union policies and procedures relating to the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US PATRIOT ACT and OFAC.

Minimum Requirement

·        Currently attending a college or university and have taken the intermediate level courses typically in your second or third year of study.

·        1 to 2 years required utilizing computer software in a windows environment, i.e., Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.

·        Must be able to exercise confidentiality and discretionary judgment.
